She Helps Create the Vibe — Meet Taylor Perez, American Revelry's Server's Assistant

Walk into American Revelry on a packed Friday night and you'll notice something: the team isn't stressed and the vibe is just right. That doesn't happen by accident. It happens because someone — usually someone you don't immediately notice — is actively creating space for everyone to do their best work.

That someone is Taylor Perez. Ten months into her first restaurant job, she's already become the person who changes the room just by being in it.

You've been here since September. What made American Revelry your first restaurant job?

What initially drew me to this special place was its outstanding staff and high-quality food. As my first experience working in the restaurant industry, it has been both rewarding and enjoyable, and I have thoroughly appreciated the opportunity to grow and learn in such a welcoming environment.

What does a shift actually look like for you?

I like to begin each shift by ensuring everything is properly set up so that both servers and guests have what they need for a smooth experience. Throughout the shift, I stay proactive and assist wherever needed. I take pride in being dependable, adaptable, and contributing to an efficient team environment.

What's the most hectic moment you've had on the floor, and how did you handle it?

One of the most demanding situations I have experienced was balancing both hosting responsibilities and server assistant duties during an exceptionally busy shift. While it required strong multitasking and adaptability, I was able to manage both roles effectively. I am comfortable working in fast-paced environments and remain locked in under pressure, allowing me to contribute positively and help ensure everything runs smoothly.

The dining room moves fast. How do you actually stay cool?

I strive to remain focused, communicate effectively, and approach every task with a team-oriented mindset. I prioritize what needs immediate attention and work efficiently. I'm fortunate to work alongside supportive colleagues who are always willing to assist when needed. Even during our busiest shifts, we collaborate effectively and maintain a positive, supportive work environment.

You're supporting the whole front of house — is there a server or team member who's taken you under their wing?

Everyone on the team is supportive and willing to help when needed. However, if I had to recognize one server in particular, I would say Meredith. She has been a great resource and consistently contributes to a positive and collaborative work environment.

What's the one dish you'd order if you could eat here every night?

For sure the Revelry Signature Steak Plate. I usually always order that and it never disappoints.

What makes working here special?

My favorite part of the job is working alongside my coworkers. They create a positive and enjoyable work environment, and I truly appreciate the meaningful relationships and friendships I've built with them.

What do people say you bring to the team that nobody else does quite like you?

I always have a positive attitude. And if someone needs help, I'm there.

Last one: What's playing if you had control of the music during your section?

Anything from the late 90s, R&B, Smooth Jazz, and Alternative Rock.

What the Revelry Difference Feels Like

Taylor mastered the menu and the fast pace of the dining room months ago. But what truly sets her apart is something you can’t teach in training: she knows that a great meal is only half the experience. The other half is how you feel the moment you walk through our doors.

It’s the energy, teamwork, and genuine care that turn a good meal into an unforgettable evening. That’s the American Revelry difference — and it’s exactly what Taylor and the team bring to the table every single shift.

Next time you’re in, keep an eye out for Taylor, say hello, and experience the vibe for yourself. We’ve got a table waiting for you.
